Decoding Dyslexia - CT is a grassroots movement driven by Connecticut families, teachers and advocates concerned with the limited identification and access to educational interventions for dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities within our public schools. We aim to raise dyslexia awareness, empower families to support their children and inform policy-makers on best practices to identify, remediate and support students with dyslexia in our public schools.

Our group is made up of advocates for children who are dyslexic. We are not experts, nor are we a business or educational organization. We can only offer other parents the benefit of our collective experiences. We encourage parents to meet with their local policy-makers to tell the story of their child, and ask for policies and/or legislation to identify and support dyslexic children in our public schools.

Please become a part of the solution by volunteering and/or becoming a member of Decoding Dyslexia - CT. You can also LIKE us on Facebook, FOLLOW us on Twitter @DDyslexiaCT to stay in touch with our progress and receive useful information.

Message from Decoding Dyslexia-CT Founder

Many thanks to Senator Catherine Osten, our CT Dyslexia Champion!

To all of our awesome members, friends, family, supporters and neighbors who have emailed their legislators, placed phone calls, shared their stories and supported our initiative over the past few years, I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Our Connecticut Dyslexic students will begin to be supported because of YOU. This is only the beginning to effect public policy change for our kids. My personal story, advocating for my own son, has brought us here. Along the way I have received support from so many people, many of whom I have met on this journey and now call my friends. We could not have made such progress without ALL of you. I am proud of all of our courageous students who testified and shared their story to benefit other students. I thank those that took the time to talk to me, email, raise awareness and submit written testimony.  We did this together for our children and for those that don't have a voice. I look forward to continuing the conversation, future dyslexia legislation and additional supports for our Connecticut Dyslexic children.

I'm honored to have taken this journey with all of you!
